Orthopedic Joint Replacement Specialist

"I was born in Houston Texas but grew up in a small town in West Texas called San Angelo. I graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in Biology. Ironically, I then went to Medical school in Houston at the same hospital in which I was born.

My residency in Orthopedic Surgery took place at the Medical College of GA. I furthered my education at Ohio State University with a post-graduate fellowship in Joint Replacement.

My interest in teaching and research led me to return to the Medical College of GA to become a professor of Orthopedic Surgery. While in Augusta, I was the director of the Joint Replacement Services, started the Medical College of Georgia Tissue Bank and was a founding member of the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation.

After 10 years, I decided to relocate to Florida and joined the Florida Knee Center where I practiced for 26 years. I have now moved into private practice at 1831 N. Belcher Rd. Suite E2, Clearwater, FL."

Board Certification

Ron Hayter, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has been an orthopedic surgeon for over 35 years.

Board certification should be one of your top considerations when choosing a doctor. Board certification is an official recognition given to doctors who have met specific requirements set by national medical specialty boards in the United States.

Board certification indicates that a doctor is highly qualified in the medical field in which he or she practices. A board-certified doctor is more likely than a non-board-certified doctor to have the most current skills and knowledge about how to treat your medical condition.
